Specifications include, but are not limited to: DHS is increasingly experiencing more clients for whom English is a second language. Services include: ▪ Foreign Language interpretation (In-Person or Remote including telephone or video) ▪ Translation services (Written) Clients may have limited or non-English Proficiency (LEP/NEP) and are seeking assistance to services and benefits offered by DHS. Services are required within all seventy-five (75) counties of the State of Arkansas. Languages to be provided for individuals with LEP/NEP may include, but are not limited to the following: • Arabic • Cambodian • Chinese • Farsi • French • German • Greek • Haitian Creole • Italian • Japanese • Korean • Laotian • Marshallese • Polish • Portuguese • Russian • Serbo-Croatian • Spanish • Vietnamese • Urdu DHS generally requires a higher volume of services for Spanish and Marshallese communities. Note: American Sign Language interpretation shall not be a part of this contract. DHS Divisions and Offices may request services on-site, off-site, or remote (phone or video conference) as determined by the requesting division and office. Off-site locations may include, without limitation, the following: • State mental hospitals • Human development centers • Youth treatment facilities • State correctional facilities • Medical facilities • Clinics • Schools • Courts
