Specifications include, but are not limited to: manage, operate and market a comprehensive commuter vanpool program, known as RideShare. Vanpools are an extremely valuable alternative mode of transportation. They are considered an additional transit mode providing a viable commute option. Vanpooling provides commuters with lower stress and expense of driving alone; and provides the community with reduced traffic congestion, improved air quality and less environmental impacts. The scope of work will include providing vanpool vehicles either through acquisition or lease, fleet maintenance, insurance, driver support and training, commuter support and training, account management and reporting. The selected proposal will promote alternative modes of transportation to reduce single occupancy vehicles, traffic congestion and improve air quality in the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA).
