Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Division of Medical Services is issuing this request for proposal (RFP) to solicit bids from experienced contractors to assist in South Dakota’s Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) process. Specifically, conducting all Level I reviews and Level II mental health evaluations for individuals who are seeking admission or continued stay to a Medicaid certified Nursing Facility (NF). 3.2.1 Level I Reviews 1) Utilizing an existing State PASRR email, receive all positive Level I screenings and supporting documentation from hospitals, nursing facilities, and other community-based agencies for individuals seeking admission or continued stay in a Medicaid certified Nursing Facility 2) Complete a Level I Review of the screening and supporting documentation a) Determine if the Level I screen is appropriately suggesting a SMI or ID b) Determine if a categorical determination or exemption exists that would negate the need for a Level II evaluation at this time c) Notify affected parties appropriately in an agreed upon method regarding the determination of the Level I review. 3) Process all Level I Reviews within one business day from the time of receipt of all required documents. 4) Document all Level I Reviews in the State PASRR database
