Specifications include, but are not limited to: CHASSIS SPECIFICATION ITEM 1. Base chassis shall meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements with a minimum 205” wheelbase, 137.9” cab to axle, and 75” axle to the frame, which shall coincide with bed dimensions. 2. The vehicle weight rate shall be a minimum of 35,000 lbs gross. 3. The minimum front axle weight rate shall be 12,000 lbs with heavy-duty shock absorbers and 12,000 lbs leaf spring suspension. 4. The minimum rear axle weight rate shall be 23,000 lbs with heavy-duty shock absorbers and rear leaf spring suspension of 23,000 lbs. 5. Shall have a single-speed rear axle with a gear ratio compatible with the engine/transmission for speeds up to 65 mph. 6. There shall be tow hooks mounted to each frame rail at the front and rear. 7. The front bumper shall be full-width aerodynamic steel. Bumpers shall comply with all federal regulations including underride protection. ENGINE SPECIFICATION ITEM1. The engine shall be in-line 8.9 L 6-cylinder diesel, minimum 300 HP, delivering 860 ft lbs torque. Shall have a right-hand, under-step mounted muffler with selective catalytic reduction (SCR), and vertical tailpipe 2. Shall have a non-ether type cold start aid and key-operated engine shut down. 3. Shall have a single-stage air filter with a restriction indicator. 4. The oil and fuel filter shall be spin-on type, vertically mounted. 5. Shall have an engine shut-down system for low oil pressure and high coolant temperature.
