Specifications include, but are not limited to: Los Alamos County contracts for various remodeling and improvement projects involving County facilities, dating back to 1928 (Fuller Lodge) and others constructed from the 1940’s through current along with road/utility work. Asbestos has been encountered in many of the building materials used for original construction, as well as in road projects (pipe insulation underground) and other Public Works projects. It is desirable to have a licensed on-call contractor who can be notified of potential asbestos containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint,mold, and other hazardous materials who can quickly mobilize and test the materials without significantly impacting the overall project schedule. 1. Generally. a. Successful Offeror (“Contractor”) shall provide all trained, qualified, and experienced personnel, plus all necessary labor, tools and equipment, materials, and supplies to perform On-Call Asbestos and Other Hazardous Materials Testing (hereafter “Services”) as requested by County. b. All Services shall be assigned on an on-call basis, through Task Orders issued by the County Project Manager as needed, as described in “Task Order Process” below. 2. Hazardous Materials Testing. Services performed by Contractor shall conducted by staff who are Licensed in New Mexico for testing of materials as described. Testing activities shall include but may not be limited to, the following: a. Test suspected ACM; b. Test suspected lead-based paint; c. Other Hazardous Materials as required; d. Collection of materials; e. Securing of materials; f. Manifesting the materials for shipment; g. Sending the materials to the proper lab; and h. Reporting on the findings of the lab.
