Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project involves building a brand new, intergenerational community center. The new center will be two stories over approximately 42,000 square feet. It is designed to be a sustainable, LEED certified building with abundant natural light and modern finishes. It will include modern A/V solutions, connectivity, safety features, and technology. The design of the building comes from the culmination of substantial community input and will include the following elements: • Community meeting space • Dividable multi-purpose rooms • Administrative offices • Art Room • Computer Room • Audio/Visual Production Space • Locker Rooms/Restrooms • Indoor Playground • Concession Stand • Commercial Kitchen • Fitness Center • Yoga/Dance Studio • 2nd Floor Balcony with Pre-function Space • Gym with 2 Full-size Indoor Basketball Courts • 2nd Floor Indoor Walking Track Around Gym Spaces The project also involves developing sections of an approximately 6-acre site that surrounds the new community center. These site features will include some year-round recreational amenities that will be open to the community and enhance the spaces and programming provided within the community center. It is intended that the site development include: • Moving the existing monumental building sign and providing a new masonry base on the west side of the site. • An expanded and reoriented parking lot that will include rough ins for EV charging stations. Regulatory signage for the parking lot would be included. There will be two entrances/exits with manual steel gates at each entrance/exit. • Two NBA size basketballs courts surrounded by small scale landscaping. • A small to medium sized playground for children ages 2 – 10 years old. • A small to medium sized splashpad for children ages 2 – 15 years old with the piping and controls in an underground vault next to the splashpad. The water is not being treated and recirculated. • A 12’ x 16’ pre-engineered open-air pavilion. • A free-standing restroom building with two family style restrooms. Two exterior security cameras would be connected back to the community center security system. • A detached vehicle garage with room for two 15-passenger vans, storage and with two exterior 8 yard dumpster enclosures. • A new plaza area to the east of the community center and next to Linden Avenue. This is intended to be a market stall area in the future for community events. • Basic wayfinding signs. • New concrete sidewalks limited to the community center and site improvements but with several areas for displaying public art. • New planting beds, new trees, and various other landscaping enhancements. • The creation of a new storm water retention pond on the far south side of the site. • Wayfinding and Signage • Public Art
