Specifications include, but are not limited to: The selected firm will be expected to provide the usual and customary services for recruiting and hiring a new City Administrator, including, among other things: Work with the Council Members to develop a candidate profile. Develop and implement a recruiting strategy, including appropriate advertisements approved by the City to be distributed through local, regional and national channels. Proactively recruit potential candidates, including qualified internal candidates already employed by the City and candidates employed elsewhere. Screen all candidate applications and generate a recommended list of candidates. All candidate applications will be made available to the Council Members. Design and facilitate candidate interviews to include Council Members and City department heads, including preparation of potential interview questions for the interviewers. Facilitate and participate in public forums for finalists selected for onsite interviews. Conduct detailed background checks on candidates to evaluate past employment history and job performance, criminal record, financial background, educational credentials, social media history, past new releases or other matters reported in the media, and any other relevant factors. Notify applicants not selected. Assist in compensation negotiations. Advise and assist the City concerning any other matters that may arise relating to the recruitment of a new City Administrator.
