Specifications include, but are not limited to: The material shall be a glassy solid that is soluble sodium phosphate containing Na20 and P205 in a molar ratio of approximately 1.1 Na20 to 1.0 P205. It shall be readily soluble when mixed in proportion of one part of hexametaphosphate, by weight, to four (4) parts of water. The content shall not be less than 60.0% phosphorus pentoxide (P205), 26.2% Phosphorus (P, or 80.4% Phosphate (P04)). The Sodium Hexametaphosphate furnished shall be for use in the treatment of a municipal water supply and shall conform to American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standards as set forth in AWWA B502-11, or latest revision. The product shall be National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certified as a drinking water additive.
