Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Agree to accept all cases referred by the Municipal Court for indigent representation during the period of time designated by the agreement governing such provision of services. 2. Prepare, try, or otherwise handle all indigent cases in the Municipal Court as may be assigned by a municipal court judge on any and all daily dockets of the court located. 3. Prepare and file appeals de novo in the Wyandotte County District Court, as necessary. 4. Prepare and submit Diversion and Deferred Judgment Agreements for clients in the Municipal Court and appear at scheduled hearings. 5. Represent assigned clients in termination actions on diversions and deferred judgments in the municipal court and prepare for and handle hearings thereon. 6. Represent assigned clients in parole and probation revocation proceedings and show cause hearings in the Municipal Court. 7. Review and prepare all cases for trial, or other scheduled hearings, in advance of the assigned court date. 8. Prepare all memorandums, motions, briefs, letters, or other legal documents on behalf of the client. Office space will be provided for the attorney(s) to hold office hours. No equipment, supplies, staff support, or expenses of any kind will be provided by the Municipal Court. 9. The attorney(s) shall provide all assigned clients with a telephone number and website or email address at which the attorney(s) can be reached, or messages left by clients regarding their cases. 10. Maintain a record of all cases assigned and time expended for review by the Municipal Court or the Legislative Auditor on a monthly basis, and to assist in an evaluation of the Unified Government’s indigent defense program. Records should be maintained to provide summary statistical reports on the number of cases completed and in progress, and dispositions of completed cases.
