Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Judicial Branch (Branch) is seeking electronic legal research services as defined in this Request for Proposals (RFP) document. This document provides instructions for submitting proposals, the procedure and criteria by which the awarded Bidder will be selected, and the contractual terms which will govern the relationship between the State of Maine (State) and the awarded Bidder. The Branch’s justices, judges, magistrates, and law clerks, and some judicial assistants, clerks, and administrators, use electronic legal research services to research constitutions, statutes, case law, regulations, county and municipal ordinances, and secondary sources as part of their functions in resolving legal questions posed in litigation and Branch management. Although most of the research is specific to Maine law, research into federal law and the law of other states is often necessary.
