Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Service Provider a. Company shall be a US company. b. In-house laboratory capable of full elemental, organic, and biological analyses. c. In-house expertise on processed water needs of health care, life sciences, and pharmaceutical. d. In-house expertise on processed water needs of research, specifically biomedical, chemical, and microbiological. e. In-house trained technicians with the expertise and capability to service and support Elga laboratory products. f. Company shall provide electronic service reports within 24 hours of service technician site visit detailing work performed and parts provided. g. In-house regeneration facility for DI and carbon assets in an ISO 9001 Certified facility. h. Company to have capability (not currently implemented and additional costs may be involved with this option) to provide 24/7 remote monitoring of DI service which includes: - leak detection. - system flow rate monitoring and recording of gallon usage by day or month. - quality alarm notification. - tank exchanges based on remote water quality alarm. - alarm notifications and system data available to KU via web links. i. Leak detection - Capable of shutting off water flow. - Does not require power for under-sink laboratory systems. j.Full-service capability i. Product supply, regeneration, and delivery. ii. System installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water softeners, reverse osmosis, CDI, UV, PLC control panels, and pumps. iii. Guidance and recommendation on type and size of systems. iv. Sample collection and analysis. k. Company shall be of a size and composition able to serve all University needs within the limits defined below. 2. System Capabilities a. Processed water shall be delivered to the specifications below at the required volume for each site. b. Deionized water i. ASTM D1193-06 (2011) Type I - typical ii. ASTM D1193-06 (2011) Type II - on request. c. Portable Deionized tanks to be regenerated in an ISO 9001 certified facility. d. Mixed Bed DI tank resin to be Type 1 Low TOC resin. e. Activated carbon filtration. f. Reverse osmosis water. g. In-line ultraviolet sterilization. h. Water softening. i. Particulate filtration i. 1.0 micron - typical ii. Down to 0.2 micron – on request j. Laboratory water polishing product offerings and service capability.
