Specifications include, but are not limited to: The West Virginia Department of Education is publishing direct award determination for Carnegie Learning to provide customized, in-person professional development for educators in the use and application of the Mathematical Habits of Mind. Onsite custom workshop, per day for up to 25 participants (includes materials). 3 Units ; Carnegie Learning will provide in-depth customized professional development training for the use and application of the Mathematical Habits of Mind as related to the West Virginia College- and Career-Readiness standards for mathematics. West Virginia has consistently underperformed on West Virginia state and national assessments in Mathematics. Mathematical Habits of Mind brings a common language to Mathematics in classrooms across the state and a concerted effort to improve student achievement. Mathematical Habits of Mind teaches students problem solving skills mathematics principals to real-world applications.
