Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Lines, arrows, symbols blocks and letters shall be painted evenly and neatly so as to produce straight crisp lines. • Blocks, for the purpose of this bid, will be defined as the white painted areas in piano key style crosswalks. They will be 2 feet wide by 6 or 8 feet long and there shall be a 2 foot unpainted space between blocks in the crosswalk, unless an alternate color is used on the unpainted space between the shite bars. All crosswalks that currently fail to have 2 foot spacing shall be corrected. • Stop bar lines will be 2 feet wide and match the length specified for each location. • The contractor shall supply templates to standardize arrows, stop and side bars, piano keys, and other markings. Payment for roundabout fishhook arrows will be considered as one fishhook arrow regardless of the number of arrowheads. • The majority of the work on the main arterials shall be done at night to minimize the impact to traffic. Some work in certain areas may be performed during the day, this work must be approved and coordinated with the City. • The City shall direct where the Contractor shall paint first, with the intent that high use or high priority areas be painted first. The work associated with these dates does not include additional work such as the potential fall pavement marking as mentioned above. Time extensions may be granted by the City due to uncontrollable circumstances such as weather, etc. • The Contractor shall keep the premises free from the accumulation of waste materials or rubbish caused by its operations at all times. At the completion of the work for each site, the Contractor shall remove all its waste materials and rubbish from the site, as well as its tools, equipment, machinery, and surplus materials.
