Specifications include, but are not limited to: ITEM & QUANTITY Approximately 2,300 pounds of alum sludge dewatering polymer delivered properly labeled and palletized in 50LB or less multi-wall polyethylene lined palletized, labeled bags or similar non-returnable drums to the Lake Massabesic Water Treatment Plant, located on Lake Shore Road, Manchester, NH. Approximately 550 pounds of liquid alum sludge dewatering polymer delivered properly labeled in 275 gallon totes to the Merrimack River Water Treatment Plant, located on Kimball Drive, Hooksett, NH. SPECIFICATION This material shall be used in the dewatering of alum sludge produced from the flocculation process involving aluminum sulfate and/or polyaluminum chloride in a municipal water treatment plant. This polymer shall be a high molecular weight (relative to other such polymeric materials) non-ionic/anionic material supplied in dry granular form, and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60 by an ANSI-Accredited third party certifier. Certification shall be returned with the bid form. Solubility of the polymer shall be at least 0.5% (weight percent). Material which the bidder proposes to furnish will not be considered for award unless the material has been previously demonstrated to the Manchester Water Works which then deemed the material to be of equal or greater dewatering effectiveness, on a pound for pound basis, than polymers it currently has in use. The preferred polymer is MAGNAFLOC LT25 as manufactured by Coyne Chemical. Alternative polymers will be considered on a case by case basis. Information shall be provided on all material bids specifying generic polymer name & company of manufacturer. All available technical data on this polymer and certification for use in drinking water shall be affixed to this bid.
