Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Horizontal boring and excavation to provide a path for the installation of communication conduit. Any excavation shall include all sand bedding for conduit, compaction per industry standards, installation of pavement where removed, loam and seed where required, and the setting of junction boxes to grade. The total distance from the location A (City Center) to location B (7 Willow Street) is approximately 700’. NOTE: Open excavation across Cony Street shall include the repaving of approximately 1,400 square feet of area due to a city moratorium associated with Cony Street. Repaving shall be coordinated with the City Engineer and the City Public Works paving Supervisor. The open excavation can be completed using one of the following options: Option 1: Day work provided provisions are made for (2) lanes of vehicular travel with 1 lane eastbound and 1 lane westbound at all times and all required or necessary signage associated with this option. Option 2: Night work with one lane of alternating travel with flaggers, and all required or necessary signage associated with this option. Option3: Night work complete closure of the road and creation of a detour for all traveling public. The contractor shall be responsible for the placement of all required or necessary signage related to the detour. B. Core drilling through City Center existing foundation wall to provide access path into the building. The sealing and patching around conduit to ensure complete water tight seal; C. Installation of 4” Schedule 80 PVC conduit, any and all associated and necessary fittings from location A (City Center) to location B (7 Willow Street property). Conduit shall be capped and ended inside an open bottom J-box on the 7 Willow Street property. Location on the 7 Willow Street property shall be as per drawing. Continuation of conduit into new building will be completed by others; D. Installation of open bottom junction boxes. All open bottom boxes shall be set flush to finish grade. Open bottom boxes shall be Hubbell Quazite # PG1324BA18 with a PG1324HA12 cover or exact equal; E. The City of Augusta has provided two paths from 16 Cony St to 7 Willow St referenced in the attached map. • Excavation of the Arsenal St. sidewalk. • Trenching across City Center parking lot adjacent to the path of the 42” sewer main. F. The City of Augusta recognizes that an experienced contractor may propose an alternate path then the two proposed by the City of Augusta and encourage it’s submission as an alternate proposal. G. Bidders wishing to consider the addition of any value-added services is encouraged to do so but shall ensure that the information is duly noted as “value-added information” and shall be inclusive of any additional costs associated with the “value-added information.
