Specifications include, but are not limited to: Douglas County, Kansas is soliciting proposals from experienced and highly qualified Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firms who specialize in the field of professional auditing services for the public sector, to audit its financial statements for up to five (5) fiscal years commencing with the year ending December 31, 2023. The independent financial audit(s) to be performed under the contract derived from this Request for Proposal must be in conformity with all Kansas State and Federal Laws and must be performed in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-128, “Audits of State and Local Governments.” Douglas County has had financial statements prepared on a regulatory basis for more than a decade. The most recent financial statement includes 29 funds, both budgeted and non-budgeted, and three related municipal entities. The related municipal entities include Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health, the Douglas County Extension Council and the Douglas County Free Fair.
