Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Connolly Pond Dam, also known as the de Camp‐Thomas Dam, is located on an Unnamed Tributary of the Mill River in Shrewsbury, Vermont. The dam was breached in 2020 as it was in poor condition and a growing concern for downstream safety existed. The dam is located off Northam Road, and is accessed via a 14‐foot wide gravel access road. An inactive dry hydrant is located at the east end of the dam. The dam is owned by Amy Leah de Camp‐Thomas and Jason Price. The goal of the project is to remove the dam and some of the accumulated sediment to reduce flood and erosion risk, protect water quality, restore the stream channel, and improve aquatic organism passage. Construction plans accompany this Request for Construction Bids (Attachment A). Project construction is anticipated between June 1 and September 1, 2023. Disturbance must be minimized and contained with sediment and erosion controls that will be applied and maintained throughout the duration of the project.
