Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Topeka is seeking bids for the purchase of one handheld Raman spectrometer for use by the Topeka Police Department. The awarded vendor will be expected to enter into a contract with the City of Topeka that provides the City with the option to purchase additional handheld Raman spectrometers at the bid price for a period ending April 30, 2024. 1. This bid is for MIRA XTR DS or like quality brand 2. 785 nm laser or similar 3. Capable of both bulk and trace identification of fentanyl and other illicit drugs, a combination of illicit drugs, synthetic reagents, and explosives 4. ID of trace level concentrations of heroin and fentanyl 5. Preliminary analysis of street samples 6. Be able to sample through barriers from thin plastic bags to thick glass bottles to include liquids 7. A standoff ability to sample potentially hazardous materials from a safe distance 8. Large library with options to customize and ability to update 9. In person or online training and certification to include device support 10. Ability to store, scan, or print test results 11. Ability to change attachments including battery in the field
