Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (Department) is seeking professional engineering services to provide reconnaissance level planning to determine appropriate permanent repairs to transportation infrastructure damaged by Typhoon Merbok and subsequent fall 2022 Bering and Chukchi Sea storm events. Evaluating areas to enhance the resiliency of damaged transportation infrastructure will also be required. Services required may vary per project but will include the preparation of environmental documents, permit applications and any required field work, preliminary design through final bid documents, bidding assistance and construction support. Community outreach services will also be required. The involvement of local government and private stakeholders will be a key component throughout the design and construction of each project. It is anticipated all design and land surveying and LiDAR acquisition will be done by the Department or through other professional service agreements but may be added by amendment if needed. Coastal engineering, hydrologic and hydraulic engineering and independent cost estimating may be also be added by amendment if needed, as well as bridge, geotechnical, and electrical design services for some projects. Innovative methods for project delivery are encouraged by the Department. Alternative construction means and methods such as CMGC or progressive design build may also be employed at the Departments discretion. 1. Preliminary Design and Development of Alternatives 2.
