Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Request for Proposals invites responses from experienced professional site-work and concrete construction contractors to assist the Burlington City Arts, a department of the City of Burlington, with the final design and construction of a reinforced concrete foundation for a public art sculpture to be installed in Dewey Park, 50 Spring Street, Burlington VT. Dewey Park is parkette in the Old North End of Burlington that serves as a central location in the neighborhood, serves as a central location in the Old North End and benefits from the proximity to the Integrated Arts Academy. This location makes the soon to be completed artwork highly visible to a broad community, especially Burlington’s youth. The park is also home to a farmer’s market in the summer. REIB partnered with BCA and BPRW to issue a call to artists, support the selection process, and manage the implementation of the project. BCA seeks a consultant and contractor team to finalize the design and construct a circular concrete foundation measuring approximately 800 square feet. The foundation will include steel-reinforced concrete including FRE fibers. The project will be include a tamped gravel bed, with a 24’x24’ opening in the center for a lighting unit, and four smaller lighting openings around the outside with electrical conduit installed under the foundation to connect the lights, as well as an underground electrical conduit to the parks existing power connection in the eastern corner of the park.
