Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting bids from qualified vendors to supply HDPE piping and appurtenances for the Central Landfill leachate recirculation system. pecifications: HDPE Piping: • The HDPE pipe and fittings shall be made from a high density, extra high molecular weight material with a broad range molecular weight distribution designated as a PE 4710 with ASTM D3350 cell classification number of 445574C as manufactured by: Arctic Insulation and Manufacturing, LLC, Tricon Piping Systems, Inc., ISCO Industries, Ferguson Enterprises, Rovanco, Thermacor, JM Eagle, WL Plastics, Performance Pipe, or Borough approved equivalent. • Pipe shall have impact strengths greater than 7 ft-lb/in. at 73°F when tested in accordance with ASTM D256 (Standard Test Method for the Izod Pendulum Resistance of Plastics). • Pipe shall have a maximum deflection of 5% • All pipe shall be made from virgin material, or from rework compound obtained from the manufacturer's own production of the same formulation. • Pipe shall be homogenous throughout and free of visible cracks, holes, foreign inclusions, or other defects. • Pipe shall be uniform in color, opacity, density, and other physical properties. • Pipe shall be manufactured to ASTM D3035. HDPE Couplings: • Couplings shall be supplied by the same manufacturer and from the same resin as the pipe and all fittings shall match the size and SDR rating of the receiving pipe. • Electrofusion couplings shall be manufactured per ASTM F1055.
