Specifications include, but are not limited to: Tower #10 Scope – Gearbox Replacement. The gearbox was in running condition when it was shut down. Vibration, oil analysis, and borescope indicate imminent failure. This gearbox may be rebuildable and should be brought out of the Eva Creek Facility when the Contractor demobilizes. The unit may return to the Anchorage or Fairbanks railyards. The new gearbox will need fresh oil loaded into it upon installation. Tower #16 Scope – Gearbox and main shaft replacement. Oil was drained when this gearbox suffered a catastrophic failure (split the casing). Due to this failure, we have opted to replace the main shaft and the gearbox. The new gearbox will need fresh oil loaded into it upon installation. Oil Changes Scope – Oil change out on Towers 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11,14,15. These Units are functional, and oil analysis indicates the need for a replacement.
