Specifications include, but are not limited to: Through this RFP, the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), within the Colorado Department of Public Safety(CDPS), is seeking to purchase a single used Pilatus PC-12 NG (Next Generation). The short-term objective in purchasing a Pilatus PC-12 is to gain increased transportation (Airpool)capability and replace the current backup aircraft for the King Air 200.The long-term objective for purchasing a Pilatus PC-12 is to bridge the gap that currently existsbetween our transportation services and law enforcement services. By having a truly multi-missioncapable aircraft we will be able to perform all of our functions with a single platform…whilesimultaneously increasing our Law Enforcement coverage to the entirety of the State of Colorado. Our objective with this purchase is to gain statewide law enforcement capability. The present-dayconfiguration of The Colorado State Patrol fleet consists of Airpool transport aircraft, and LawEnforcement aircraft with camera capability (a critical function for all aviation law enforcement units)that are limited to operating east of the front range. Our current Law Enforcement aircraft (C-182T)are limited both in their performance (if/when they can fly) and their capability (where they can fly). The C-182T do work well for law enforcement operations East of the front range, but are unable to operate West of the front range due to safety and performance concerns. Our aircraft serve their missions admirably, but ultimately, they are limited and perform a single role/mission.
