Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Invitation to Bid (ITB) seeks competitive bids from qualified Firms to provide thermoplastic tape of various shapes and sizes. This specification describes the minimum acceptable design requirements for furnishing Heat-Fused Permanent Preformed Thermoplastic Pavement Markings, referred to here after as Pavement Markings, for use as roadway and intersection delineation and marking as required by the Ada County Highway District (ACHD). The Pavement Markings shall be adherent to both asphalt and Portland cement concrete pavements by means of heat fusion. The Pavement Markings shall consist of preformed 125 mil, letters, numbers, legends, arrows, lines, symbols and adhesives ; Category I – (No-Preheat) The material must be able to be applied without a minimum requirement for ambient and road temperatures and without any pre-heating of the pavement to a specific temperature. The material must be able to be applied without the use of a thermometer. Dry the pavement to remove surface moisture, apply the marking, and top heat the marking for completion of the installation. Heat fusion is accomplished primarily by heating the thermoplastic to the pavement surface.
