Specifications include, but are not limited to: Furnish and install the specified playground mulch at the schools listed below with approximate quantities per ASTM standards. Mulch and installation must meet guidelines of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety on Public Playground Surfacing Material. The product should be a loose-fill surfacing material that has been tested and meets/complies with ASTM F1292 (Standard Specification Impact Attenuation of Surface Systems Under and Around Playground Equipment) and ASTM F1951 (Standard Specification for Determination of Accessibility of Surface Systems Under and Around Playground Equipment). The initial fill level should be 12 inches that is compacted to 9 inches. Rubber mulch products must be specifically designed for use as a playground surfacing and test to comply with ASTM F1292. Manufacturer is required to provide the following: 1. Critical height based on ASTM F1292 impact attenuation testing 2. Minimum fill-depth data 3. Toxicity 4. ADA/ABA accessibility guidelines for firmness and stability based on ASTM F1951. Mowing Specifications All areas must be mowed and “proper weed edge trimmed” at one time or will not be considered complete and payment for said campus will be withheld for that given week, unless it is completed to the satisfaction of the facilities director. There will be no deductions or skipped areas. Frequency of mowing will be determined by the school district at the discretion of the facilities director. There will be no sub-contracting allowed on this bid for any mowing on school campuses without a prior approval for a given circumstance, by the Facilities Director.
