Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department will solicit and invest in high quality Pre-Apprenticeship programs to create a qualified pipeline of Registered Apprentices and to expand the underrepresented, disadvantaged, or low-skilled population that participates in Registered Apprenticeship. Pre-Apprenticeship programs provide programming aimed to close the gap in qualifications for individuals not qualifying for a Registered Apprenticeship position. This helps the construction industry primarily tap into another pool of potential talent and support an increase in diversity in our Registered Apprentices. Pre-Apprenticeship program have heavy employer involvement as well as require wrap around services to support both employers and pre-apprentices prepare and succeed in their registered apprenticeship or unsubsidized employment in the construction industry. Individuals will work with an Apprenticeship Navigator who will case manage them and support their targeted job search and placement efforts with Registered Sponsors to maximize their ability to become a Registered Apprentice.
