Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of cellblock medical services program is to support efforts by counties to provide adequate medical services in their police department central receiving cellblocks. The program provides a mechanism for assessments to identify detainees with co-occurring serious mental illnesses and substance use issues, data collection, and information exchange with the Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD) providers and jail diversion staff to support alternatives to incarceration for Persons in Crisis (PIC). This mechanism shall include a pre-booking database of interactions between PIC, law enforcement officers, and/or nurses; producing related reports; and implementing process improvement procedures.
