Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Pause Place includes replacement of the main walkways to the arena, construction of a concrete oval at the intersection with the Greenway, a fitness station mounted on a new concrete pad, bike racks and trash/recycling receptacles, new landscaping and walkway lighting, and signage. Under the main walkway to the arena, an existing culvert and an associated stone headwall must be reconstructed. In addition to the Pause Place, a large bioretention area, designed as part of a stormwater permit with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VTDEC), must also be installed to offset impervious surface added as part of the Greenway Rehabilitation in the southern end of the City. The bioretention basin includes excavation of the existing turf, installation of subsurface drainage, gravel, and bioretention soils, replacement of an existing inlet to tie in with existing storm infrastructure, and installation of topsoil, mulch and landscaping.
