Specifications include, but are not limited to: The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) is soliciting bids for asbestos removal and proper disposal at the Betty Hagel Memorial Civic Center (312 Lincoln Ave N) located in Center, ND. Abatement includes the removal and proper disposal of all asbestos containing materials detailed in the Scope of Work below. The building is currently in daily use as the Center City Hall and Civic Center. The building has power, heat, and water. Removal and proper disposal of approximately 5,760 square feet of non-friable asbestos containing black mastic associated with non-asbestos tan floor tile throughout entire gymnasium. 1. Prior to shipping, friable asbestos-containing material must be wetted. Friable asbestos-containing material must be placed in leak-tight containers and be properly labeled. Containers should be carefully handled. Handling of regulated asbestoscontaining material must be performed by certified asbestos personnel. 2. Disposal during periods of high winds should be avoided. 3. Disposal at the landfill should avoid areas of standing water and should not occur during periods of excessive precipitation.
