Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City is issuing an RFQ to identify qualified firms that could (1) design the renovations needed to enable BPD and BFD to operate fully and successfully in the historic Showers building and to realize the benefits to relocation described above, while remaining within budget; (2) develop the necessary accompanying construction plans; (3) provide the necessary supervision, oversight and coordination during the construction phase; (4) coordinate with public safety and City leadership and administration throughout the project; and (5) maintain appropriate engagement with stakeholders, the public, and the Common Council throughout the project. : (1) creating architectural designs and engineering plans for the renovation of the historic CFC Showers to house BPD and BFD administration as part of a unified City Hall, while ensuring security features necessary to public safety operations; (2) providing any other design services needed to relocate the police and fire departments; (3) obtaining and integrating stakeholder input in the design and planning phase; (4) maintaining close contact and coordination with BPD, BFD, and City administration throughout the design, planning, and construction phases; (5) keeping the Common Council of the City of Bloomington and the public informed of progress on the project and responding, in consultation with City Administration, to questions and concerns; and (6) engaging and supervising qualified contractor(s) that will perform the necessary construction work (unless the City separately contracts for construction management).
