Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Port of Skagway (POS) desires to receive proposals from qualified bidders covering the labor, and equipment necessary to receive delivery of, provide power to, and install new capstan winches, and existing light poles. The POS will require a contractor to procure and install all electrical systems to power the capstans and existing light poles. Components of the Work & details of the bid include: • The existing ore peninsula piers currently have no powered capstans. The only installed capstan, on existing dolphin A, has been removed, but is still owned by the Municipality of Skagway (MOS). This capstan will be reinstalled, and three new capstans will be installed on existing dolphins. • The salvaged capstan that was previously installed on existing dolphin A will be reinstalled. A step-up transformer will be added to the existing 208/120V panel stand on shore, and the capstan will be powered at 480v from this transformer.
