Specifications include, but are not limited to: This request for proposal is to publish and print the Kansas Byways Guide, a marketing publication for the Kansas Byways Program. The program is managed by Kansas Tourism, a division of the Kansas Department of Commerce. Established byways are public roads with special scenic, historic, recreational, cultural, archeological, and/or natural qualities. The byway designation refers not only to the road itself but also the corridor through which it passes. The Kansas Byways Program helps to preserve the state’s designated byways and provides resources and support toward increasing tourism and economic development within rural communities. The contractor will manage all aspects of publishing and printing an updated and revised version of an already existing magazine-type publication for the byways program. Tasks will include researching and writing content; taking photos on location at the byways; creating maps; designing page layouts; printing and saddle stitching; and shipping to a location to be determined by Kansas Tourism.
