Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Topeka is soliciting competitive bids for furnishing Ferric Chloride 35%, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Number 7705-08-0 in bulk, 118,000.000 GL; A. The ferric chloride tank at the Oakland Waste Water Treatment Plant (OWWTP) has the capacity to hold 3,500 gallons. The estimated annual usage is 118,000 gallons, however the City of Topeka reserves the right to increase or decrease usage any time during the term of the resulting agreement. The following delivery requirements apply. B. Given the estimated usage of approximately 300 gallons per day, shipments are estimated to be need every ten days, which will be the standard. City of Topeka OWWTP Operators will place orders at minimum, every three days in advance of the date needed. C. The delivery of Ferric Chloride 35%, CAS number 7705-08-0 is not to exceed what it takes to fill the tank to the 3,400 gallon fill level and shipments orders will not exceed 3,000 gallons given the limitation of tank size. D. A two inch cam-lock fitting is available on the SE corner of “O” Building for unloading purposes. Clean up of spillage of ferric chloride that occurs during the transfer process is the responsibility of the supplier. E. Receipt of shipments will be made only between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday excluding designated City holidays.
