Specifications include, but are not limited to: This contract is established to obtain agricultural services in the form of crop production on 1 group of croplands at Toronto Wildlife Area. Cropland permit will be bid on a cash payment ($/acre) basis. Each tract grouping will be bid separately with the award going to the highest bidder for all groups combined, subject to references check. In addition to the cash payment 5% of all acres of all crops will be given to the Department to either leave in the field or to be harvested and sold. The cash amount that is bid will be due for every acre on the permit that is designated to be farmed by the permittee each year with 50% of the annual payment to be paid before April 1, and 50% to be paid before December 1, of the same year. There will only be one cash price for all acres regardless of the type of crops that are to be planted in any given year and 5% of all crops will belong to the Department to be left in the field or harvested and sold. If the Department chooses to have its 5% of crop harvested the permittee will do so and deliver the 5% to market with no compensation or payment made to the Permittee. KDWP will determine which crops if any will be planted in any field in any year of the permit. Permittee will not be required to pay for acres that are designated to remain Idle. Some of these tracts are more flood prone than others. No compensation will be made to the Permittee for fields or portions of fields that are flooded out, any crops harvested will be shared with the Department even if portions of fields are destroyed by flooding or other natural causes.
