Specifications include, but are not limited to: This RFP is being issued with the intent to secure a contractor to develop a “microsimulation” model that will allow DTS to more accurately measure the impacts of traffic signal optimization on travel demand, and to evaluate operational management strategies for transportation facilities. The model will also be applied to evaluate new projects, and the results will be used to justify further traffic signal optimization and intersection re-configuration study and/or implementation. The contractor will produce a calibrated microsimulation model that is integrated with the Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization Oahu Regional Travel Demand Forecasting Model (ORTDFM), with compatible software and in compatible data formats. Microsimulation is better suited for current year and near-future roadway intersection and inter-modal nodal analysis. These types of analyses involve finer temporal and spatial resolution than those analyses performed with the current ORTDFM system.
