Specifications include, but are not limited to: Fire Alarm Upgrades at Silva and Gonzalez Elementary Schools: Power Systems: Provide connections for fire alarm control panel, remote annunciator(s), voice evacuation panel(s), power supplies, etc. Fire Alarm System: Provide demolition, labor, material, and equipment related to the implementation of a fire alarm system replacement including fire alarm panels, voice evacuation panels, initiating devices (automatic/manual), indicating devices, raceways, and power supplies for a complete installation. Monitor and interfacing with Emergency Radio Responder Communication System, kitchen hood(s) fire suppression systems as well. Please provide storage units for materials as required and coordinate with school personnel. Demolition: All existing indicating and initiating devices shall be removed along with associated wiring. Existing rough ins can be reused at contractors' discretion as long they meet TDLR mounting heights and new devices installation requirements. Coordinate and engage with HVAC controls contractor for the proper installation/programming of the duct smoke detectors. Under Base Bid: Contractor is required perform radio signal testing utilizing local emergency responder radio frequencies. Alternate Bid: if radio frequency results are deemed inadequate by the Fire Marshall office the contractor shall provide an in-building radio signal amplification system to provide complete coverage in the building for the public safety agencies as required by the local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction). System users shall receive and transmit radio signals from their portable radio units within the building.” Sequence of Construction: The existing fire alarm systems shall remain in operation until the new system is ready for the end user to operate. The switchover shall be closely coordinated with WISD maintenance and school staff and be scheduled so as not to disrupt school instruction. This includes the following: Power supply wiring to control panels, field-devices, and other devices requiring power at 120 volts and higher. UL listed plenum rated cable may be used above ceilings. Control wiring in exposed locations shall be concealed in EMT conduit. Demolition: Disconnect fire alarm control panel for replacement. All existing wiring shall not be reused and be removed and properly disposed. Underground raceways to be abandoned in place.
