Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (Department or DOT&PF), Southcoast Region, Division of Preconstruction Services is seeking professional engineering services to evaluate the feasibility and design of a new ferry terminal facility located at Cascade Point near Berners Bay, at MP 41 of the Glacier Highway. This project includes feasibility analysis, preliminary and final design of AMHS infrastructure at Cascade Point. Expected services will encompass civil, structural, bridge, marine, geotechnical, electrical, and mechanical engineering, land and property surveys, architectural and environmental permitting support services. The work includes: • Topographic and bathymetric surveys to verify and/or supplement existing data. • Geotechnical field investigations as necessary to support design activities. • Metaocean analysis to establish design parameters for offshore and nearshore marine structures. • Civil, structural, geotechnical, coastal, electrical, and mechanical engineering and architectural services for all elements of the proposed development. • Technical assistance to support anticipated permitting that may include US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permits and the USACE’s consultations with National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), and a request for incidental harassment authorization (IHA) under the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).
