Specifications include, but are not limited to: UNMH's objective is to ascertain from vendors a comprehensive, full outsourcing service proposal to cover all outpatient clinic and ancillary coding needs for UNM Hospital on a full-time, dedicated basis. In this regard, vendor would be responsible for providing credentialed contract coding team with designated managerial oversight in accordance with UNMH’s quality and performance metrics. Outpatient Coding Experience: Coders would be responsible for the accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM diagnosis code(s) and CPT procedural codes for the following facility areas: outpatient clinic (primary care and specialty clinics), as well as assignment of codes for ancillary areas (physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, audiology, and other ancillary services). Lastly, assignment of Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes and any other outpatient services as rendered to capture professional fee services. At this time, UNMH is transitioning to the SinglePath coding model, whereby coders would be responsible for simultaneously utilizing the 3M coding application to capture both the facility and professional fee components of clinic visits. Although E&M services will be almost entirely outpatient-oriented, there is a small population on a monthly basis (roughly 3,000 encounters) for the provision of E&M coding for inpatient professional fee services for UNMH-employed advanced practice professionals that would be within scope as well.
