Specifications include, but are not limited to: In accordance with Indiana statute, including IC 5-22-7.3, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) requires one or more vendors to provide Asphalt Emulsion. Delivery/freight charges will include delivery from the vendor’s plant location to the INDOT delivery site. Asphalt emulsion shall be composed of an intimate homogeneous suspension of base asphalt, an emulsifying agent, and water. Asphalt emulsions may contain additives to improve handling and performance characteristics. An emulsion which fails to perform satisfactorily in the field shall be cause for rejection, even though it passes laboratory tests. Rejected materials shall be replaced at no extra cost to INDOT.
