Specifications include, but are not limited to: Open Enrollment to establish a list of qualified vendors to provide service, repair and maintenance for the State of Rhode Island which operates a large fleet of boats and other marine craft from a large cross section of manufacturers. These boats range in size from 8 feet to over 46 feet in length and are powered by both inboard and outboard engines, both diesel and gasoline. Due to the complex nature of these engines, specifically Mercury and Caterpillar Diesel, the need for certified technicians and specialized diagnostic equipment to analyze problems is required. Repairs other than simple routine preventative maintenance, including emergency repairs, onboard vessel maintenance, repair, and installation of onboard equipment (generator, bilge pumps, steering, etc.) must be contracted out to certified repair facilities. Most of these vessels are considered emergency response vessels and all repairs and maintenance must be expedited. The scope of work contains the following elements: • Boat hauling • Blocking boat • Re-launching boat • Power washing boat • Sand blasting boat to remove all marine growth and paint removal • Top and bottom painting to include the preparation of underwater hull area for application of anti-fouling bottom paint appropriate for the hull material being painted.
