Specifications include, but are not limited to: The vendor must have accreditation to provide ISO/IEC 17025 service to the laboratory. The accreditation includes a scope which dictates the limits within which the company can provide calibration of pipettes. Specifically, the report received from calibration must incorporate the following points: 4.1.1. The calibration performed is in accordance with ISO/IEC17025:2017, ANSI NCSL Z540.3-2006 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 1994. 4.1.2. The standards in the calibration report must be traceable to SI through NIST. Expanded uncertainty should be expressed at approximately the 95% confidence level using a coverage factor of k=2. 4.1.3. The calibration will include 5 sample measurements at 2 volumes for each pipette, including weight (g) and volume (uL). 4.2. The vendor must have the following included in their accreditation scope for pipette calibration: 4.2.1 Laboratory and Field Calibration of Pipettes, Repeaters, Dispensers, Dilutors and Balances. Please note the actual measurement uncertainties achievable on a customer's site shall be expected to be larger than the CMC stated for calibrations included on the scope of accreditation. Allowance must be made for aspects such as the environment at the place of calibration and for other possible adverse effects such as those caused by transportation of the calibration equipment. The usual allowance for the actual uncertainty introduced by the item being calibrated, (e.g. resolution) must also be considered and this, on its own, could result in the actual measurement uncertainty achievable on a customer’s site being larger than the CMC. 4.2.2. The method for verification of the balances used in the calibration process must use a class 1 NIST traceable weight set. 4.2.3. Complete training records for each vendor technician/representative must be available upon request. 4.2.4. Commercial General Liability, Workman’s Compensation, and Auto Insurance must be provided by the vendor for all technicians. 4.3. Quality Assurance and Technical support must be available for assistance during client internal and/or external audits. 4.4. Service must be provided in the month of May for every year this contract is in place, beginning with May 2023.
