Specifications include, but are not limited to: Work practices prohibited by Michigan Law and the Program include: open flame burning or torching; machine sanding or grinding without a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) exhaust control; uncontained hydro blasting or high-pressure washing; abrasive blasting or sandblasting without HEPA exhaust control; heat guns operating above 1100 degrees Fahrenheit; chemical paint strippers containing methylene chloride or other volatile hazardous chemicals in a poorly ventilated space; and dry scraping or dry sanding, except scraping in conjunction with heat guns or around electrical outlets or when treating no more than two square feet in any one interior room or space or totaling no more than 20 square feet on exterior surfaces.
