Specifications include, but are not limited to: competitive bids for the provision of timber stand improvement for the Missouri Department of Conservation; a. The contractor shall carry out operations in such a manner as to cause the least damage to the habitat in the vicinity. The Department’s Resource Forester may terminate the operation temporarily, if the operation is detrimental to the land or it is determined to be in the best interest of the Department. b. The contractor shall take immediate and independent action to prevent and suppress fires caused by the contractor in or near the work area. The contractor shall take immediate action to alert Eureka Fire, Pacific Fire, and the Department about any fires caused by the contractor in or near the work area. c. The contractor shall protect from damage all timber not designated for treatment. d. The contractor shall not construct any trails without the consent of the Department’s Resource Forester. e. The contractor shall not cut or damage any trees or markers designating the property boundaries. f. The contractor shall repair any damage to fences as a result of work performed. g. The contractor must notify the Department’s Resource Forester of any changes in labor arrangements.
