Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Specifications include, but are not limited to: Idaho Fish and Game is mandated to provide Pheasants in Wildlife mangement areas (WMA) for sportsmen thru out the state. We have had toubles in the past finding vendors capable of supplying the quantity of birds needed to stock the WMA's. We have had vendors back out of contracts, not being able to keep up with the need and putting IDFG in a bad situation with license holders. Pricing agreemnts allow us to work with established vendors with proven track records. DOP has allowed price agreements since 2109 and this has worked well for IDFG. There is a limitation and availability of contractors that grow pheasants. We need to have agreements in place no later than March 1 to allow for time for the contractors to grow the amount of birds IDFG is needing; There are only two large scale growers that we are aware of that can handle the quantity of pheasants IDFG needs statewide. We are always on the look out for new vendors that can meet the needs of IDFG to create competition.
