Specifications include, but are not limited to: NDSCS is requesting sealed bids to establish and award a Time and Materials contract to provide Asbestos Abatement Services at the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, ND; NDSCS Location, Fargo, ND; and Career Innovation Center, Fargo, ND. Pipe Insulation Removal by Glove Bag a) North Dakota certified contractor, workers, and supervisors are required. b) All workers will have current physicals and respirator exams. c) The pipe insulation will be removed using glove bag containment methods including floor poly ten feet in all directions beneath the work area and utilize wet abatement techniques with surfactant, two abatement workers, and a HEPA equipped vacuum. d) When specified pipe and insulation can be removed by wrap and cut techniques, including floor poly placed ten feet in all directions beneath the work area. e) All exposed fiberglass pipe insulation cuts shall be sealed using a bridging encapsulant. f) One stage personal decontaminate with a bucket of warm water and wet wipes for decontamination. g) Seal all openings such as vents, diffusers, heaters, speakers, doors and opening windows, etc. with six (6) mil poly. h) All critical barriers will be built using six (6) mil poly. i) All asbestos waste will have waste generator tags or labels attached and be disposed of at an approved ND Department of Health landfill. j) Prior to leaving the site, the contractor shall ensure that all areas are clean and free of debris and waste. The asbestos dumpster if utilized shall be removed from the site no later than the first working day following completion of work activities.
