Specifications include, but are not limited to: The US Army Corps of Engineers is currently constructing a hurricane risk reduction project for the east bank of St. John the Baptist Parish, called the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project. The project will construct a 100‐year level risk reduction system extending from the Bonnet Carre spillway to Garyville with the introduction of levees, floodwalls and pumps. Although drainage studies have been completed to estimate the required capacity of levee perimeter pump stations, none have evaluated potential drainage improvements needed on the east bank of St. John the Baptist Parish inside the new hurricane risk reduction as a whole. Therefore, the objective of this project is to develop an east bank St. John the Baptist Parish Comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan (The Plan) to identify and prioritize drainage capital projects needed and to recommend parish code and policy revisions to promote improved drainage conditions throughout St. John the Baptist Parish.
