Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Jefferson Parish Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking formal bids from qualified bidders, contractors, metal workers, and artists, for the fabrication and installation of an aluminum historical timeline mural along new seatwalls in Bayou Metairie Park. The Park, located at 2713 Metairie Road, was recently redesigned by local Landscape Architecture firm Dana Brown & Associates (DBA). The renovation includes green infrastructure facilities, site furnishings, and hardscaping fit for both passive everyday use and neighborhood special events. The perimeter seatwalls function as a safety feature, placemaking element, and ample seating. Throughout the design process, DBA collaborated with local historians Catherine Campanella and Maureen Brennan McConnell, along with the Office of Jefferson Parish Council District 5, to develop an extensive natural and cultural history of the site and the former Bayou Metairie for which the site is named. DBA designed this historical content into a graphic, linear timeline to be installed as a mural along the facades of the new seatwalls that surround the park.
