Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project consists of constructing a new cast-in-place concrete stiffleg bridge across the Rexburg Irrigation Canal near Barney Dairy Road. The bridge is 36 feet wide spanning 26 feet. The canal is planned to be realigned by the City prior to bridge construction. All materials such as Granular Borrow and ¾” Aggregate Base shall be provided by the Contractor. Compaction requirements (Section 306.3.3) will be Type A-1 for all street locations and proposed street locations and driveways, Type A-2 for locations next to streets, and Type C for all landscaping and agricultural areas. Backfill and compaction will need to be brought up evenly on both sides of the structure. Do not backfill the abutment walls until the bridge deck is complete and the deck falsework has been removed. All backfill shall be granular borrow. Structure shall be built as per plan and specifications, and accepted construction practices. All exposed concrete surfaces that were not called out on the plans shall have a rubbed concrete finish. Remove forms and perform necessary patching as soon after placement as possible. Finish newly hardened concrete no later than day following form removal. Wet surfaces and rub with carborundum brick or other abrasive until uniform color and texture are produced. No cement grout to be used other than cement paste drawn from concrete by rubbing process.
