Specifications include, but are not limited to: The feasibility study consultant will be commissioned to provide a complete feasibility study, including: The feasibility study consultant will conduct a detailed study of key programming needs within the context of the RI College Strategic Plan, Master Plan and enrollment projections. The feasibility consultant will detail the program requirements of Fogarty Life Science. Recommendations shall take into consideration trends in higher education learning spaces and science labs. The consultant will meet with administration, faculty and students to assess needs of a diverse and changing RI College student demographic. The consultant will prepare minutes for all meetings and distribute to the college. In addition, the consultant will conduct an evaluation of academic facilities at peer and aspirant institutions in order to meet future trends and maintain market competitiveness. Visits to Other Institutions – Select three institutions (with the RIC steering committee) with biology and biotechnology teaching and research labs that have been constructed recently. Make field trips to these institutions with the RIC steering committee to help inform the feasibility study. Open Charrettes/Workshops – The consultant shall plan at least two (2) open charrettes or workshops in addition to the programming meetings. The purpose would be to capture ideas and input from additional members of the campus community.
