Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project limits on Carey Avenue extend from Nellis Boulevard to Toiyabe Street. Project improvements include roadway widening from two to four lanes between Nellis Boulevard and Christy Lane. A new four-lane roadway will be constructed from Christy Lane to Toiyabe Street. A new Carey Avenue and Toiyabe Street intersection will be constructed. Roadway improvements to Carey Avenue from Nellis Boulevard to Toiyabe Street include improvements to cross streets at Betty Lane, Bledsoe Lane, Christy Lane, Sloan Lane, and Toiyabe Street. The work consists of excavation, placement of embankment, aggregate base, and asphalt roadway surface. Concrete improvements consist of constructing curb and gutter, sidewalk, sidewalk ramps meeting current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, median islands, concrete cross gutter, concrete residential driveways, and concrete commercial driveways. New fencing includes concrete and concrete masonry unit retaining walls, chain link fences and gates, and Air Force security fence and gates. Traffic improvements include modifying the traffic signal at the intersection of Carey Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. Additional improvements include installing guardrail and barrier rail, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) interconnect system, streetlights, pavement markings, and roadway signing.
